I am a part of the Wielogłos (eng. Multiple Voices) collective that organises a digital festival meant to promote diversity in comics. I am also the author of the logo and visual identity of the event.
The Barriecito font was chosen because of the diversity between the letters. It helped to convey the base values of the festival - giving voice to everyone, and not a chosen few. A sheep is a mascot chosen for the festival, and is turned into a shape of a comic balloon.
Due to my illustrator background I am able to produce cartoon assets that fit within the theme of the festival and add a lighthearted, approachable and whimsical sides to it.
2024
The first edition of the festival happened in the Fall of 2024. I decided to use the sheep from the logo as the base of the illustrated assets, to establish the brand within the comics community.
The first edition was divided into 4 theme blocks - Comics in a Skirt (discussing women in comics), Comics in the Net (discussing webcomics), Comics in a Library (talking about the experience of the librarians wanting to make comics more accessible) and Comics in a Rainbow (discussing LGBTQIA+ themes in comics). Leaning into the whimsical theme, I created a version of the sheep from the logo that corresponds to each of the thematic block.
Zine open call
As part of the first edition of the festival we announced an open call for the "Głos" (eng. "Voice") anthology. The zine was going to be printed, and later became available online. Other than the promotional material and cover, I also designed and prepared the zine for print and digital publication.
2025
2025 marked the second edition on the festival. I wanted to keep it visually distinctive from the first edition, choosing bold CMYK-based colours, rather than toned pastels of the first edition.
